I start my PGCE course at university which I’m super excited and nervous for. I went shopping for everything for University and I thought I’d share with you all what I got.
Ringbinder files – I got these gorgeous ringbinder files from Poundstretcher, they were £2 and I couldn’t resist I love the patterns on them all. I don’t even know if I’ll need them but I love them.
Pencil case – I got this pencil case from Wilkinson’s, it was £2 and I liked how simple it was, it’s really cute and big enough for all of this stationary!
Subject notebook – I bought this from tiger, it was £2 I thought it would be good to divide all the different subjects up in my lectures so I don’t get confused
Notebook – I wanted a cute little notebook for general notes and then I’d use the subject one for lectures and seminars
Everything else – I bought pretty much all the stationary from Rayman, I got all of it for £17 which is pretty good seeing as I got everything I needed and a few bits I didn’t
I’ve ordered a new bag but it hasn’t been delivered yet so I’m using my Bloomingdales canvas bag for now. I’ve got everything I need for the big day, 2 notebooks, my pencil case, sticky notes and the book that’s on my reading list.
I fully enjoyed shopping for stationary and love haul posts! I’d love to see yours.
Today marks mine and Matthews 5 year engagement! We got engaged very young, I was 16 and we had been together for 2 years, Matthew was 18 and bless him he took me for a meal and proposed to me with my Mams engagement ring given to her by my Dad who passed away. I started to cry and at first said no because I was so young, but we talked and then I said yes. Sometimes people think because we were so young we don’t take it seriously but we do, we just aren’t in a financial position to even think about getting married.
We’ve been together for seven years, I wouldn’t change a thing. Sometimes we don’t get on and we argue but I think that’s what every couple do and if anything it makes us stronger as a couple.
Since we started going out when I was 14 we’ve grown up together and went through everything together, he’s so supportive and caring especially when I was diagnosed with colitis when I was 17, that was a hard few years I had but he stood by me every step of the way and I am so grateful to him for that.
So this marks our 5 year anniversary of the day I was proposed to and here’s to many more years together.
Ever since I’ve moved out into my new house in Sunderland, I’ve became such a nana. I wake up, go to work, come home, put my pyjamas on, watch tv and then fall asleep at like 10pm. Then I wonder why I wake up at 8am every morning and lie in bed wide awake for hours!
It’s freshers week here In Sunderland and I’ve not been out once, I just can not be bothered! I guess it’s because I’ve done it for three years before? I’m technically a fourth year so maybe I’m just over it all haha, I don’t know.. I wouldn’t say I’m the biggest person for going out but I enjoy it now and again, all my friends are busy in full time jobs or living away after uni.
I had a day off work today, I’ve literally sat in my pyjamas all day watching Netflix, catching up on eastenders and eating. Am I 80 yet?
I’m going to Teesside tomorrow to see Matthew and he’s been going out everynight for his freshers so I’ll probably end up going out this weekend.
Are you a nana too?
First of all, sorry for being MIA for a few days I’ve been really busy moving house and working! I hope to blog a bit more now I’m all settled in my new house.
This blog post is going to be all about my best friend Demi and her new baby Isaac. Me and Demi met back in college in 2012 and have been really close ever since, we are complete opposites but we get along so well. We studied photography together at Gateshead college and kept in touch when we finished college and we both went off to seperate universities. Even though we live seperate lives we see each other lot and still make time for each other.
So back in November (I think) I was sitting watching Pretty little liars in my flat with my flatmate Em and I got a phone call from Demi, she told me she was pregnant! I was speechless, its one of those moments where you don’t know what to say. So I asked her if she was happy about it and she was, I congratulated her and said she’d make the best Mam ever!
Then came July…
Isaac Harrison Gilby was born on the 25th July after a gruelling 18 hour labour for Dem. Her sister sent me a picture and I couldn’t wait to meet him! Those little chubby cheeks. About a week later and I went to Demi’s nanas to meet him, we spent a whole day together and he literally just slept all day but I couldn’t stop staring at him. I was so happy for her.
He’s now nearly 2 months old and has came on so much, he’s just started giggling and doing cute little smiles. I was also asked to be Isaacs guideparent a few weeks ago, with the most adorable little box and poem and a print of his feet, I was absolutely over the moon to be asked.
I’m so proud of you Demi, you’re the best mam to that little boy and he is absolutely gorgeous and so lucky to have you to bring him up. Love you both so much xox
I’ve got an early start this morning as I’m moving back to Sunderland in my new house share. I’m excited but nervous as I have to spend the first few days alone and my housemates who I’ve never met don’t move in till next Friday..
So the morning started at my Mams house, getting all of my crap out of my bedroom and downstairs ready to load the van we have hired because I’ve got a lot of crap. It’s about a 45 minute drive to the new house, I pick up my keys at half 10 and then the unloading and unpacking can begin! I also need to go shopping because there’s still a few bits I need for the house and I’ll need to fill my cupboards.
I’ll keep you updated and post pictures once my bedrooms all pretty, for now here’s a picture of my Mams living room currently covered in my crap 😊
Busy busy day!
Let’s talk about contraception..
I recently went on the combined mini pill, I’ve been in a relationship for 7 years and have just went on the pill, I know I know it’s really bad.
I’ve been on the pill for about a week now. At first I was really nervous because I’ve heard some horror stories and some of my own friends have got pregnant even being on the pill. I’m also the most forgetful person ever so having a pill I need to take everyday terrifies me too but so far so good as I’ve got an alarm on my phone that reminds me.
I’ve already started to break out around my neck and face but don’t know if that’s my course of steroids I’m currently on as I’ve not been on the pill long.
I’m curious to know peoples experiences with Rigevidon. Did you experience side effects? Did you switch pills?
Let me know!
As if it’s September already.. this year has gone so quick! September is going to be a busy month, I’m moving house, starting uni for the second time and continuing my part time job all while doing a teaching placement at Gateshead College it’s going to be hectic but I honestly can’t wait to be back in education as I’ve been so bored and obviously lost without student loan ha!
So here’s some goals for this month
The same as August I need to keep ontop of drinking more water as it’s doing wonders for my skin and my colitis too as it’s much better than fizzy pop.
Get to know my new housemates! I’m moving to a new house next Friday in Sunderland into a house share. This is something I’m so nervous about because I’ve only ever lived with my Mam, my boyfriend or my best friend last year so this will be a real challenge for me. I hope we become good friends and enjoy living together but time will tell!
Enjoy photography again. Ever since I finished my degree I’ve done a few weddings but I haven’t been enjoying them as much lately. I’m currently not doing any until December but hopefully with me teaching photography in a college it will reignite my passion for photography.
Enjoy my course! I’m so nervous to start my PCET course in teacher training because I have no idea what to expect. I’ve had a little experience teaching 15 year olds but never 16-18 year olds in a college so I’m nervous but excited to see how I do and I really hope I fall in love with teaching.
So, I’m almost finished my 6 week course of steroids and I have my checkup appointment this Wednesday. All going well I’ll be sent away to be seen next year and my medication will continue to work. I just need to still remember to take it and keep ontop of it.
This month is going to be challenging for me and Matthew, I’m moving away to Sunderland again and he goes back to university in Teesside, he’s only on his second year so he’s in five days a week, I’m working weekends and attending uni 3 days a week and placement 1 day a week so it will be tricky to see each other but I’m sure we will work something out. We always do.
That’s about it for now.. busy month ahead!
